Match
Canadiens vs Spartans
Details
A player from the Spartans was ejected from the game for tripping a Canadiens player after the whistle, and after being issued a penalty for slashing.
While the ejected player is skating off, the Canadiens player pursues him, causing a small gathering to separate the players. During this, the Canadiens player is continuously taunting the ejected player, including making a “crying” motion with their hand.
After the match, the ejected player is standing beside the rink. A (different) Canadiens player skates over and attempts to taunt them further, making a “come on, bring it on” jester with their hand, further raising tensions.
After the game, the ejected Spartans is met in the parking lot by an individual looking to start an altercation, with clearly premeditated intentions. The individual drove up to them, using their truck as intimidation. The individual was not a member or the ARL, but had a relation to the tripped Canadiens player.
Result
- The (initial) Canadiens player was issued a 1-game suspension
- The Spartans player was issued a 2-game suspension
- Both teams received collective warnings.
