Legacy
This page is dedicated to the individuals who helped make the ARL what it is today.
Jeff Topping
Previous: Convener
Jeff is a retired member of the ARL Committee. He was an original member of the Committee after the switch from a dual-convener system.
Patricia Doherty-Baranowski
Previously: Founder / Convenor
Pat is an original founder of the ARL. Her vision of a safe, non-contact, co-ed, social hockey league is still the baseline used by the league today. Pat is the embodiment of ARL Spirit.
Scot Cameron
Previously: Convener / Web
Scot was one of the original ARL conveners, later working beside Pat with 2-convener system. Image Source
Ted Lindsay
Previously: Convenor
Ted was one of the original members of the committee that succeeded the co-convenor duo. He led the league through the COVID-19 pandemic, despite never playing a single game. Ted retired at the end of the Fall/Winter 2021-22 season.
Bruce Johnson
Previously: Timekeeping and Stats
Bruce handled the task of managing the timekeepers, collecting all tracking sheets, and inputting the stats into the ARL website. He retired at the end of Fall/Winter 2021-22, after deciding to travel the world (no joke!).
Jim Sleno
Previously: Goaltender Affairs
Jim managed everything to do with goalies in the ARL. If a team was going to be without a goalie for their match, Jim would find a replacement. He retired at the end of the Summer 2022 season.
