Details
A Kings and Eagles player fight for a puck while heading into the boards. During the battle for the puck along the boards, the Kings player falls off balance and has their stick comes up, making contact with the Eagles player’s face mask/helmet. As the Kings player turns to skate away, the Eagles player issues a cross-check to their back. Upon seeing this, a Kings player delivers a solid upper body-check to the Eagles player (who falls on to the ice and slides into the boards) and begins skating away. An Eagles player attempts to go after them, but is stopped by their own teammate and a Kings player (who was the recipient of the cross-check). The Kings player places his hand on the Eagles player’s face, shakes it, and shoves his head back. The Eagles player retaliates by issuing a two-handed chop with their stick to the neck of the Kings player.
The calls on the ice were:
2 minutes for cross-checking (Eagles)
2 minutes unsportsmanlike conduct (Kings)
5 minutes for game misconduct and ejection (Eagles)
Result
A Kings player received a 2-game suspension.
